CCSS and Primary Resources
The focus for this blog entry is on Primary Resources, which are defined as 'original sources of information' or 'evidence' created at the time under study. Although some feel that Primary resources are difficult for readers to understand, it is an important for students to learn to analyze, evaluate, and then critically writing about a historical piece by using evidence and information gleaned from the text. Your school library can provide help in finding these important sources of information, often in a well-structured text that provides help with analysis and evaluation. Access your schools Destiny catalog and enter the search term ' Primary Resource' to get a list of what is available.

Library Week is April 1-5
Please join us as we celebrate our WGSD Libraries the first week of April (1-5). Each library in the district will have special programs for the students and staff to celebrate literacy and the role of libraries in our school district. We will also formally kick-off our summer reading program by inviting students to sign a pledge to 'Be a Summer Reader with Webster Reads'. Each library will also have a book collection basket for gently used books to be donated to our Summer School and Summer Readers programs to keep the good reading going strong all year long. Please stop by that week and join in on the fun, and encourage your Webster Student to participate in Webster Reads and the summer book donation.
Happy Readers at Edgar Road
Students settle in with a good book for some relaxing and renewing reading time!
